After a difficult start to 2009, Isca Dragons 4's were determined to take the maximum points from today's match. Having drawn 1-1 when they last met, Isca knew they would need to apply pressure straight from the first push back.
Isca dominated the entire match, with the majority of the game being played within Sidmouth's half. Frustratingly Isca could not find the goal on countless occasions and did not capitalise on all the hard work put in by the entire team. The score sheet was blank at half time, and Isca finally scored the winner, with less than 10 minutes to go, from a lovely cross by Charlotte Howard allowing Claire Richardson to beautifully slot it past the goalie.
The entire team played good hockey, but particular mention must go to Katie Casper, again voted player of match, Sarah Greinig and Caroline Ripping, whose presence throughout the game was phenomenal.
Isca can be proud of their performance, but need to keep focused on getting the goals, as today's score did not remotely reflect the standard of play or dominance displayed by the team. The game was played in great spirit and sportsmanship, and every player was a credit to the Isca Dragons club.
