Isca Dragons 3rd team were desperately unlucky not to take at least a point from Winscombe's 2nd team. Only an outstanding performance from the home side's goalkeeper and some bad luck prevented the visitors scoring.
The Dragons started strongly, dominating possession and putting the goal under intense pressure, winning a number of short corners which they failed to convert. Despite dominating play they then conceded a breakaway goal from almost Winscombe's first attempt of the game, which just trickled over the line. This led to a more open period of play where Isca showed a slight lack of self-belief and had to work hard to maintain possession and get the ball forward.
Isca once again dominated the beginning of the second half before history repeated itself and Winscombe took advantage of one of their few chances to score. This time Isca were only spurred on and found themselves camped in the opposition D for large periods, twice hitting the post and having the ball saved off the line, as well as forcing numerous saves from the Winscombe keeper. The home team scored one more goal on the break, totally against the run of play, to add gloss to the scoreline and frustrate Isca Dragons.
