Match Report

Isca started well against Exe knowing that a win was crucial for helping their league position. Some good pressure led to a short corner which was converted by Rosie Bennett to give Isca the lead. The visitors had a lot of chances too and the game was well balanced. The score was 1-0 at half time.

With extra confidence from being 1-0 up Isca played a very good second half. Some excellent man marking by Verity Bennett meant Exe didn't threaten the defence too much. After a number of short corners Exe converted one to draw level.

Anne Blissett fought hard and within the final five minutes Isca scored to regain their lead. Anne drove down the right to the back line and passed the ball to Alex Cross who received it near the penalty spot and swept it home.

Verity and Anne shared player of the match but Isca played well as a team and kept their heads.
