Dragons 2nd Team
1 - 2 Teignmouth Home

Isca Dragons second team took on Teignmouth who are unbeaten at the top of the league and you could not tell the difference between the two teams as the game looked more like a top of the table clash with Isca taking the game to Teignmouth. Teignmouth drove quite strongly through midfield and to the attacking 23 but some good tackling by the defence denied many shooting opportunities. Unfortunately at a Teignmouth penalty corner one of the shots was raised and Verity Bennett was hit on the cheek by a stick. Caitlin Whytock in the Isca goal pulled off some good saves but was not in a great deal of action.

The Isca team played with some composure at the back and managed to pass the ball quite well and had several good chances in the first half. Alex Cross hit the upright and then five minutes from half time scored a great goal after a pass from Ruth Weeks down the left channel was seized upon by Alex who slotted the ball home as the goalkeeper came out to the top of the D.

The second half was again fairly even and then Teignmouth scored an equalizer following a free hit. Both teams pressed for goals and then around 10 minutes from time a free hit was awarded to Teignmouth outside the D when Isca felt their player had been tripped. Teignmouth fired the ball into the D and an attacker got a deflection into goal. Isca mounted a few more attacks and had some good shots, including a very good penalty corner strike by Ruth Weeks and a few others saved by the Teignmouth GK.

Isca deserved a draw from this game and played with great promise and showed that this is the league they belong in and now are determined to get some results in the next few weeks.
