The Isca Dragons first team faced Gloucester in their first game back after the Christmas break in need of a win. They started slowly but controlled the game well despite a feisty opposition. They created several chances early on, but were denied by the Gloucester keeper. The home team’s pressure paid off in the last minute of the first half however as Emmie Giles battled well in the D to score an untidy but well deserved goal.
The Stephens and Scown-sponsored Dragons came out strongly in the second half and again put the Gloucester goal under early pressure. The opposition fought back however and won a series of penalty corners but were denied by Isca’s organised and firm defence. The home team ended up comfortable winners however after Izzy Smith and Nikki Brooks combined to score a second, shortly followed by a second goal for Emmie Giles.
