Isca U11 A and B teams had a successful day, winning all but one game.
The B team made an excellent start, beating an older, (and bigger!) Teignmouth team 1-0. They played excellent passing hockey in attack and defended brilliantly to get a well deserved win. Their second match was against the A team, where they again defended well, but lost 3-0 to the older girls. The team was Ellie Price (GK), Issie Halpin, Sophie Bailey, Emma Watkinson, Jess Albutt, Lucy Byles, Kate Timperley and Becky Rutter.
The A team lost their first match 1-0 against a strong Exe side. They soon got into their stride after this disappointment however, and won their next game 3-0 (against Isca B’s). In the next match, they beat Teignmouth 5-0 and finished off with another convincing victory over Hornets (4-0). They played exciting attacking hockey in all their matches, scoring plenty of goals. The team was Natasha Anderson (GK), Lizzie Godwin, Laura McLachlan, Ellen McArthur, Megan Watkinson, Maddy De Cruz, Kye Silver, Anna Timperley and Dolly Carbonari.
Congratulations to all the girls for their excellent play and some great results. Many thanks also to Issie Smith (coach), Mrs Godwin (manager) and Jane Cornelius (umpire) for making this such an enjoyable and successful day.
